»With this strong artistic commitment, the Federal Association of Visual Artists Westphalia e. V., as the initiator and source of ideas, the BBK state art exhibition in the Dortmunder U, in the heart of the Ruhr area. The exhibition shows 127 works from all nine regions organized in the BBK Landesverband NRW. The artists take a stand, reflect on and comment on social issues in an impressive way, using a wide variety of forms of expression.
With their creativity and their artistic position in the art landscape, they form the sounding board for an exciting, discursive presentation of contemporary art in North Rhine-Westphalia. The exhibition is divided into six areas, which present the different perspectives and approaches of the artists to the call »CLEAR EDGE!«. The topics addressed range from climate change to environmental destruction and war to gender issues.

»The works clearly demonstrate that art is particularly vibrant in the current time of global and individual insecurity.«
— Curator Dr. Natalie Gutgesellschaft

A comprehensive catalog will be published for the exhibition on December 15, 2022. The one-off large-scale project was funded by the Ministry for Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.«
